Winding Road

Life is a winding road. It seems as if we encounter twist and turns far too often.

Some people love the adventure. Some people feel like giving up.

I don't know which category you fall into. I don't know how you feel on this particular day. Yet, let me share a few words that often bring me comfort...

We are fairly familiar with Jeremiah 29:11. It speaks of how God has plans to give us a "hope and future." Yet, it seems that we are unfamiliar with Jeremiah 29:1-10. These verses speak of exile. The people of God have been removed from home and will remain in exile ... for a long time. They will be in exile so long that God instructs them to settle down and plant gardens and have children. Talk about a twist or turn in the road. This is not what the people of God would have drawn up if they were in control of the plans.

While we are unfamiliar with Jeremiah 29:1-10 and familiar with Jeremiah 29:11, I think the key to the story is found in Jeremiah 29:12-13:

"Call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

I don't know if you are loving the adventure at this moment or if you feel like throwing in the towel. My advice is to seek the Lord with all your heart.

He will listen to you.

You will find him.

Blessings on the journey,
