I led a Bible study on Sunday morning over the account in Acts 8 where Philip was guided by the Holy Spirit down a desert road. On that road Philip encountered an Ethiopian. It is a story worth reading (see Acts 8:26-40).
I began the study by asking for a few volunteers to share times when they had been personally guided by the Holy Spirt. Yes, I know, it was a risky move. After a few moments of awkward silence someone shared a story. Followed by another. Followed by another. The group was blessed by hearing three instances when God spoke and obeyed.
If we truly follow God, we should be overflowing with such stories. After all, we serve a God who is living and active. We should have countless stories of God speaking to us and guiding us to new places. Such moments should define our lives.
Do you have such stories? If not, are you listening? Or maybe the better questions is, are you being obedient?
