Growth and More Growth

Weekly blessing from 2 Peter 3:18,
"May you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever."
The key word in this blessing is "growth."
First, we are to grow in grace, which is foundational for a relationship with the Lord and Savior. We are to be continually transformed by grace. Grace is not static. We must continue to grow in it and be strengthened by it. The world is not a grace-filled place. Yet, the church should be.
Secondly, we are to grow in knowledge. The more we grow in grace, the more knowledge we have of Jesus Christ. The more knowledge of Jesus Christ, the greater desire to grow.
You will experience growing pains. Growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ is not easy. It is difficult because we have to say goodbye to things we hold dear. Our old passions and pursuits must often be left behind. Growing in Christ moves us from earthly things to eternal things. Some are unwilling to let go. Others drop everything, follow Christ, and never look back.
Finally, as we grow in grace and knowledge, Jesus, our Lord and Savior, receives all the glory.
May you experience growing pains,
