We had a crowded house of worship on Easter. I pray it is the same the week after Easter. In front of the largest crowd I have seen at First Baptist I spoke this blessing from John 14:6,
"May you know Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life."
Jesus spoke of many difficult things. Yet, John 14:6 was not one of those instances. Here he spoke clearly and plainly. Jesus said "I am the way" as he headed towards the cross. Jesus said "I am the truth" in the midst of lies. Jesus said "I am the life" as he was headed towards death.
If we follow his way, his truth, and his life, we will see the Heavenly Father.
Thomas a Kempis put it this way:
"Without the way there is no going; without the truth there is no knowing; without the life there is no living."
Prior to John 14:6 Thomas asked a simple question: How can we know the way?" Jesus gave him a simple answer: Follow me.
May you follow Jesus,
